Wellens beats double-teaming Dutch

Race 7 in the world cup and Nys does it again. One could be excused for thinking this is getting boring and predictable (ala the Australian Cricket Team's domination of the sport). But the real contest was our mate Bart. Nys and Boom worked together to keep him out of contention, until Nys showed his dominance and Boom dropped back. Wellens came through for 2nd and showed that no 2 man team would keep him down.

This is UCI sanctioned....

Ok, so it's the festive season and I thought I'd spread some cheer but this is well and truly high on the weird-o-cycle meter. Cycle-ball. A nice clip here to explain it and get a glimpse of this "sub-culture".

Merry Cross-Mas!

Cross is at it's peak of the season as we all look to the turkey and family we don't like (which is which I sometimes wonder??).
This article from cyclingnews.com gives a great account of how cross should be watched. It also confirms that although the US Cross scene is rivaling the BMX/ Mountain Bike extreme scene, there is nothing like standing in a Belgian field, freezing cold and loving it.

World Cup Race 5 Nys 3

Nys should go on the next Survivor series. Today he outwitted, outlasted and outplayed all his rivals. He pretended to have a bad day, but then at the right time exploded leaving all stuck in the mud. As those broke down around him (literally) he kept powering on to take win 3 of the series.
Wellens was gallant, taking it right up to Nys and running where he could but that damn dérailleur broke and was 15 seconds behind the eventual winner. Hopefully next week in Italy Bart can make it one better.
