100 years but nothing changes.

What is going on? The Italians are (for now) showing how it's done not only in organising a tour but also how to ride one. Two of their favourite tainted stars have shown the cycling world 3 1 finger salutes, Pettachi and Di Luca both showed that the brotherhood of the needle is alive and well and that there is light at the end of the suspicion tunnel.

On a side note (but all related), Boonen gets caught again all but blowing his cycling career away and Valves finally gets a decision and not the one he wanted. What is with the big names, is the only one who keeps his nose clean is Lance? How cliche if that's the case, all that digging and nothing while the rest of the peleton sneezes and gets found out for some substance or other. I think the only person who is feeling good about any of this is Riccardo Riccò who is sitting back feeling just ready to say "I told you so" to the UCI.

Lets keep our eyes on the road and watch the great racing over the next month, problem is one eye will be watching the sidelines for which other big name trips up and falls flat on their face.
