Le Tour Down Under
Well, another year of cyclo-action is about to kick off and I for one don't mind a bit. Summer (in the southern hemisphere) is dead boring without my constant stream of cycling-related tidbits and did-nots. The ProTour may still be a faceless sham masquerading as a mistake, but it has allowed the Aussie media to get behind what many thought a rather pointless event - a 6 day cyclo-fest in a country better known for culling kangas than pulling turns.
So blow me away, this event is really starting to get some head of steam. Twice (you heard me, twice) king Larmstong has sunned his calves on the slopes of the Adelaide hills to the delight of the Premier, who you could be mistaken for a teenage Lance-fan.
Kick-off is midday tomorrow, so pump up your tyres and check out the ugliest jersey in a long time (servetto... yes, you) as the mid-weights fight it out for some early season glory.
